Zinfandel is a curious grape. Its ancestral home is Croatia but it was wiped out there about 100 years ago.
Luckily for us it had already jumped ship and found its way to places like California and Apuglia.
Its probably one of the hardest grapes to grow successfully and so many wineries have chosen to leave it alone.
Luckily for us we have James Sweetapple, one of the most knowledgeable people about this variety in Australia. James has travelled through Italy learning about the grape and uses this knowledge in coaxing quality dry red Zinfandels out of the col clmate of Orange.
One of the tricks to growing Zins for this style is to get the grapes to Amarone or shrivel on the vine. This leads to greater richness of flavour.
2015 was a ripper of a year and this is one of our best. History has shown the great Zins disappear fast so if you are chasing this wine call Linda and firm up your order on 65747000 or email her on firstname.lastname@example.org
It is currently earmarked for a December 2015 release.
